Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where casino betting is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a prime location, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; however, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and even though visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is correct of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling den, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational vacation and hotel compound that highlights numerous comforts aside from the casino, which has ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
