Cambodia Casinos

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is not legal. Eight casinos are situated in a generally small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; still, investment sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 1700, and though visas are allegedly needed to cross, there are means around this, as is real of many borders.

The first Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel complex that features a number of amenities on top of the gambling den, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 gaming tables.
